The Story Behind StemEnhance

Around the year 2000, Christian Drapeau, research scientist and neurophysiologist, observed that after taking large amounts of blue green algae (aphanizomenon flos-aquae (AFA)) people with a wide variety of serious health conditions experienced almost miraculous recoveries.

To Drapeau this didn’t make sense.  Even though blue green algae (AFA) was known as a superfood, he couldn’t understand how it could be responsible for such dramatic results in so many different areas.  After examination of the phenomena he was witnessing, Drapeau hypothesized that the AFA must be affecting the adult stem cells found within the bone marrow.  If this were true, it would mean adult stem cells have a similar capacity to embryonic stem cells; the capacity to differentiate into another type of cell with a more specialized function.

 Drapeau published his theory in medical journal. At this time little was known about adult stem cells; the focus was on embryonic stem cells.

Years later Drapeau’s theory about adult stem cells was proven true.   There is a growing body of evidence that adult stem cells have the same remarkable ability to develop and replicate in a wide variety of forms, known to health science as pluripotence.  It is also now known that many types of stem cells are found throughout the body, even in hair follicles.

Christian Drapeau and his colleagues did extensive research on the role of AFA and the effect of adult stem cell physiology.  They discovered that a high concentrate of a particular component in the AFA increased the amount of circulating stem cells in the bloodstream by approximately 25-30%.  This is significant as it equates to 3-5 million additional available stem cells.

By reproducing this result in various clinical studies they were able to obtain a patent on this affect of AFA upon adult stem cells.

Linking AFA to adult stem cells provides a completely new view on health; a way to enhance the body’s innate cell renewal system.

As of now, results of their research have yet to be published.  Drapeau is in the process of preparing his work to be submitted to and published in medical journals.
