Music is Healing

More and more research is proving out that the simple act of listening to music can aide the healing process. The therapeutic effect of music is being proven out by scientific research. A number of research projects have shown that music may assist in alleviating pain, depression, emotional and cognitive problems. It even helps cancer patients undergoing bone marrow transplant for leukemia, lymphomas and tumors to experience less pain and nausea. Just listening to music is enough to activate this healing phenomena. One of my passions, beyond helping people with digestive distress, is music. I have played all types of instruments (piano, violin, cello, and classical guitar) and I sing, as well.

The instrument that is the best fit for me is the cello. I played the cello through my high school and college years and have recently picked it back up to record music specifically designed to heal; this music is soulful and rich.

I hope you enjoy it! ~ Leanne F.

Tracking your Temperature (Thyroid versus Adrenal Problems)

As you know, candida can affect both the thyroid and adrenal glands.  I always struggle with low body temperature, but the doctors always tell me my thyroid is just fine – this exceptional article explains the difference.  This article is from: Nature Sunshine’s Brilliant Body Glandular System, by Julie Devisser (P. 9) for the Thyroid temperature test via Rachel Rauch, N.D.  This is a long article, but it will provide you with invaluable information which may help you to determine if you are struggling with thyroid or adrenal problems.

Track Your Temperature: A Quick and Easy Way to Determine Metabolic Health

If you’re not feeling quite up to par, take your temperature. Not to determine if you’ve got a fever – rather, temperatures reflect an individual’s metabolic energy state. The average daytime temperature of a healthy individual is 98.6 thus making 98.6 the optimal (as opposed to normal*) temperature. Lower than optimal temperatures reflect a lower than optimal metabolic state which is usually controlled by the thyroid mechanism. Wide variability of temperature reflects an unstable or fatigued adrenal system. Thus, on the road to health, one wants to go from low and/or unstable temperatures to 98.6 and stable if possible.

The Metabolic Temperature Graph™ is an extremely valuable feedback tool that provides a roadmap with which one can see whether they are moving toward or away from a healthy metabolic state. It provides insight as to whether therapeutic efforts are working or not working, as the case may be. This feedback helps guide the treatment program on a daily basis.

It is very important to follow the directions provided to create your own Metabolic Temperature Graph™ as soon as you know you are having a problem with your thyroid and/or adrenals or you suffer from any of the symptoms associated with low metabolic energy. This will provide you a baseline to work from. Once corrective actions are underway, the temperature pattern will show you how your health is progressing.

*Optimal as opposed to Normal. The frequently used term of ‘normal’ refers to a mathematical or statistical situation. Thus, a ‘normal’ state of health probably means you have some medical problems. It may be normal to die at 76 yrs of age, but at 75 years old, you may decide that what you really want is ‘optimal’ health as opposed to ‘normal’. Normal is not the same as optimal, whether it relates to longevity of life, a body temperature or a lab test result.

Recognizing Adrenal and Thyroid Correction Patterns

Although I have documented over a dozen typical temperature correction patterns for an equal number of metabolic dysfunction profiles, adrenal and thyroid temperature correction patterns are the most prevalent.

Is My Adrenal Therapy Working?

Below is a typical temperature pattern showing what we might see in a person receiving proper adrenal support, having an average to good response.

Diagram Key and Explanation:

  1. Unstable temps: adrenal fatigue. Core temperatures have wide variations. They tend to rise in warm weather and fall in cold weather.
  2. Decreasing variability: with adrenal support, as the adrenal gland function improves, variability decreases (temps become more stable)
  3. Low but stable: after the temperatures have stabilized they still remain low but relatively stable.
  4. Stable and rising: after a period of being stable, the next phase of improvement is a gradual rise in average core temperature.
  5. Stable 98.6º F: This is typical of a healthy metabolic state.

If the adrenal support is working well, phases A through D can each last from one week to several months depending on the individual. In any given individual each of the phases seems to last approximately the same length of time (i.e. short period vs. long period). Some phases can blend together. For example, A and D can combine into an upwardly stabilizing pattern without C being present. I have actually seen some people go directly from A to E. To go from A to E can take as little as 1-2 weeks or as long as a few months. Hopefully, phase E will be permanent. If the adrenal fatigue is more severe (usually of longer duration), each of phases A through D tends to last longer and phase E tends to be less secure. If no progress is seen in 2-3 months, there is usually another problem present, such as toxicity etc.

Is My Thyroid Therapy Working?

Below is a typical temperature pattern showing what we might see in a person receiving proper thyroid support, having an average to good response. When there are only problems with the thyroid, the pattern is amazingly stable and we tend to see straight line patterns.

Diagram Key and Explanation:

  1. Stable at Low: Baseline temperatures. Low temperature reflects lower than optimal thyroid activity
  2. Stable and Rising: After starting or increasing the dose of thyroid hormone replacement medication, the temperature steadily rises.
  3. Stable but Plateaued: The temperatures plateau at the metabolic level to which the current dosage of thyroid replacement medication can take it.
  4. Stable 98.6º F: Eventually when the proper dose of thyroid replacement medication is reached, the temperature is stable at 98.6. Note that if the adrenals can not handle this level of energy, we tend to see an expansion pattern followed by a drop in temperature (see typical temperature patterns)

How to Take and Plot Temperatures

How to measure temperatures

Temperatures are measured orally. Make sure the thermometer is placed deep under the tongue. Take three temperatures approximately three hours apart, starting approximately three hours after waking up. For example, if one wakes up at 6 AM, measure temperatures around 9AM, 12 Noon, and 3 PM. Try to avoid taking temperatures after activity or eating and drinking for at least 20 minutes. Even climbing a flight of stairs can raise one’s temperature for short period of time. Taking one’s temperature several times in a row will yield temperatures that rise each time. This is usually due to the muscular activity of the tongue and mouth. So, take only one reading. I have found digital oral thermometers most appropriate for monitoring metabolism. There are many good models available. I have found the Lumiscope Digital Thermometer to be one of the most accurate for the price and use these with my patients. I do not recommend mercury thermometers because: they expose you and the environment to toxic mercury when they break; they are too slow; and, the accuracy depends on leaving them in your mouth the same length of time each time you measure. I do not recommend axillary temperatures because the axillae are relatively cooler and more variable in people with stressed adrenals. Ear thermometers are the least accurate of all.

How to plot the temperatures

  1. Plot only the daily average on a graph. Write clearly, use black ink if possible (it copies and faxes better).
  2. Instead of using a dot or ‘x’ in graph cell, use a number that reflects the number of temperatures you took that day. Thus, if you took three temperatures, write a 3 in the cell that reflects the average of those three temperatures. Or if you only took one temperature, write a 1 in the cell that reflects that one temperature. They should look like this, respectively:
    or
  3. Indicate on the chart, where appropriate, any meaningful events. For example, starting a new medication or supplement, changing a dose, illness, stress, “had a great day”, “felt tired…depressed today”, menses, “worked all night”, “slept more than usual” etc. These are very important when interpreting the graph. In cases where there is a change in temperature pattern, it is helpful to consider any possible events or changes in hindsight that may provide value in the interpretation.
  4. Connect the numbers with a line. If you miss taking temperatures for a given day, do not run the line through that day. Simply stop and restart the line. Color highlighting makes the graph easier to analyze (see color sample).

Use these unmarked and sample graphs to get started. Remember that the Metabolic Temperature Graph™ is really a navigational map in disguise. The more accurately you fill it in, the more detailed and helpful the map. It will help you navigate toward 98.6º F and better health. Note that it is better to do a temperature graph that is imperfect with fewer than three temperatures daily, too much or too little time between temperatures, and too close to physical activity or rest than to not do one at all.

Interpreting Results

Interpreting the collected data is both a science and art. These are a few of the basic principles.

  • Thermal activity reflects metabolic activity. A low temperature means low metabolism and vice versa. For example, the temperature typically found in someone who is old, frail, pale and weak is low and typically ranges from 95 to 97 degrees if no infection is present. A healthy person will have an average temperature of 98.6 degrees, but may have a 100 degree or higher temperature in a hyperthyroid state or as high as a 104 to 105 degree temperature if there is a fever present these are high metabolic states.
  • Wide variability in daily temperatures indicates a weak adrenal function since the adrenal glands help the body maintain stability. Good adrenal function produces a stable temperature. As adrenal function improves, the temperature variability decreases and vice versa. As adrenals get stressed (either from emotional stress, excess metabolic stimulation such as excessive thyroid stimulation, or for other reasons), the variability increases.
  • In a hypothyroid state, the day-to-day averages are low and very stable. In a hypoadrenal state including adrenal exhaustion or adrenal stress, the temperatures are low and unstable — one day they may average 96 degrees and one to two degrees higher the next day.
  • If the temperature graph is the road map, the explanatory notes are the road signs. Without them, the pattern changes become very difficult to interpret. These notes provide context for the temperature data. They also reveal what components of the treatment program are working and what components or other factors are not.
  • Descriptions for typical patterns that one can observe include:

Diagram Explanation:
1) Stable. Seen in excellent health or hypothyroid.
2) Unstable. Poor adrenal function.
3) Contraction pattern.

The temperature variability decreases in a cyclic fashion that encompasses one or more days per cycle. It shows a pattern that is stabilizing, implying that the adrenals are not as stressed as before. This happens either because they are stronger or because a burden has been lifted from them such as less thyroid stimulation or a successful end to a stressful situation.

    • Rising pattern. This pattern is seen when there is improvement in the metabolic energy. The pattern can be stable or unstable, but the movement is in an upward direction.
    • Expansion pattern. The variability increases. It shows a pattern that is becoming less stable implying greater stress on the adrenals and a decreased ability to handle the current (adrenal) burden. It is often seen within the onset of stress (e.g., ‘the in-laws are moving in for a month’) or increased metabolism beyond adrenal tolerance (e.g. taking slow-release T-3, 30 mcg taken twice a day when the patient can only tolerate 15 mcg twice a day safely, or plain T-3, such as Cytomel, 25 mcg taken once a day which causes wildly fluctuating T-3 blood levels that are high in the morning and drop rapidly during the day producing a unstable metabolic state and thus a challenge to the adrenals) .
    • More stable and lower temperature. This is often the end result of an expansion pattern and is seen at the end of the expansion pattern. The body temperature drops to lower level that is more easily sustained or tolerated by the adrenals.
    • Fever pattern. A sudden rise in the temperature usually lasting one or more days and then dropping back down to the original baseline. A prolonged infection can produce a long lasting temperature elevation.

Electrolyte Solution – Homemade and Effective

More and more people are having a difficult time maintaining their electrolyte balance.  Some may get out of whack because of a diet they are following, some may have trouble because they work out and/or sweat a lot. However it happens, it isn’t pleasant and it can make a person feel really crummy.  In my experience, the most common symptoms of an electrolyte imbalance are dizziness, brain fog, heart palpitations, headaches, fainting, and just feeling bad.  An electrolyte imbalance can hit any one from young children to the elderly can be affected. Thankfully, there is an easy fix.

Now some people might go out and buy Gatorade (watch the sugar and the cost) or something like Vitamin Zero (watch the cost).  Both are good options, but wouldn’t it be great to be able to whip up your own concoction when you need it?  Well, here is a homemade recipe for you – you may have most of these things at home.

Homemade Electrolyte Recipe

1 tsp sea salt
1 tsp epsom salt (you can find this at your food or convenience store)
1 tsp baking soda
1/8 tsp of potassium chloride (this is the most difficult to find – I found a liquid version at a local health food store)
mix the above into 2 liters of non-chlorinated water.

There you go… Now you can drink 1-2, 8-ounce glasses of this mixture each day depending on your needs.

Here’s the thing… if the mixture has a thick, syrupy texture and tastes terrible – YOU NEED IT!  For some reason, the mixture will taste awful and thick if your body has an imbalance; please, don’t let the flavor put you off.  Keeping your electrolytes in balance is an important thing – you can get very sick if your electrolytes are out of balance.  As you drink the mixture and get caught up on the electrolytes, the texture of the drink will thin out and the flavor will not be so unpalatable.  Eventually it will have almost the texture of water and will just taste slightly salty.  Then you know you are back in balance.

This is easy to do and, if you need it, can help you feel so much better!

To your health!

Vindicated! Microbes are good for you!

I feel like singing from the rooftops today!  Finally, some one is doing research on the role of beneficial bacteria in the body.  We have been educating folks about this for the last 7 years and a lot of our friends and family really just think we are way out there.  I feel vindicated today!

Researching are finally discussing how important the role of our intestinal flora is to our overall health.   They are figuring out how important it is to keep things in balance (and that the balance is fragile), how important it is to have beneficial bacteria in the body, and how important these bacteria are to our overall health.  This is an article from the Washington Post, written by Rob Stein, titled “Microbes may play crucial role in human health, researchers discovering“.  I am going to post the article here, so it doesn’t get lost out there in web-land – the article is really that good.

Microbes may play crucial role in human health, researchers discovering, by Rob Stein – October 9th, 2011

Consider this: The average person’s body contains about 100 trillion cells, but only maybe one in 10 is human.

This isn’t the latest Hollywood horror flick, or some secret genetic engineering experiment run amok.

This, it turns out, is nature’s way: The human cells that form our skin, eyes, ears, brain and every other part of our bodies are far outnumbered by those from microbes — primarily bacteria but also viruses, fungi and a panoply of other microorganisms.

That thought might make a lot of people lunge for the hand sanitizer, but that impulse may be exactly the wrong one. Researchers are amassing a growing body of evidence indicating that microbial ecosystems play crucial roles in keeping us healthy.

Moreover, scientists are becoming more convinced that modern trends — diet, antibiotics, obsession with cleanliness, Caesarean deliveries — are disrupting this delicate balance, contributing to some of the most perplexing ailments, including asthma, allergies, obesity, diabetes, autoimmune diseases, cancer and perhaps even autism.

“In terms of potential for human health, I would place it with stem cells as one of the two most promising areas of research at the moment,” said Rob Knight of the University of Colorado. “We’re seeing an unprecedented rate of discovery. Everywhere we look, microbes seem to be involved.”

Equipped with super-fast new DNA decoders, scientists are accelerating the exploration of this realm at a molecular level, yielding provocative insights into how these microbial stowaways may wield far greater powers than previously appreciated in, paradoxically, making us human.

“The field has exploded,” said Jeffrey I. Gordon of Washington University, who pioneered the exploration of humanity’s microbial inhabitants, known as the “microbiome” or “microbiota.” “People have this sense of wonderment about looking at themselves as a compilation of microbial and human parts.”

Some equate these microbial inhabitants to a newly recognized organ. Acquired beginning at birth, this mass of fellow travelers may help steer normal development, molding immune systems and calibrating fundamental metabolic functions such as energy storage and consumption. There are even clues that they may help shape brain development, influencing behavior.

“The ‘human supraorganism’ is one term coined to describe the human host and all the attendant microorganisms,” said Lita M. Proctor, who leads the Human Microbiome Project at the National Institutes of Health, which is mapping this world. “There’s been a real revolution in thinking about what that means.”

Nurturing microbes

Investigators are trying to identify which organisms may truly be beneficial “probiotics” that people could take to help their health. Others are finding substances that people might ingest to nurture the good bugs. Drugs may mimic the helpful compounds that these organisms produce.

Doctors have even begun microbiota “transplants” to treat a host of illnesses, including a sometimes-devastating gastrointestinal infection called Clostridium difficile, digestive system ailments such as Crohn’s disease, colitis and irritable bowel disorder, and even, in a handful of cases, obesity and other afflictions, such as multiple sclerosis.

Of course, since we have been doing this for almost 8 years, we have the products you need right here to help your digestive health. We have probiotics (ThreeLac/FiveLac) that will clear candida/fungal overgrowths, we have parasite cleanses, we have silver to keep bad bacteria in check, we have fibers which are important to nurturing the beneficial bacteria, and we have probiotics you can use to recolonize your digestive tract.

To tell you the truth, I am glad the scientific community is FINALLY catching up!

To your good health!

Most effective time to Cleanse

One of the best times to cleanse the body is in the Fall and the Spring – your body is ready for you to dust off the cob webs and may be very receptive to a candida cleanse.

There are two parts to a candida cleanse. The first part involves killing candida and there are many methods that are quite effective (ThreeLac/FiveLac/Candex).  The second part (and the one that most people forget about) is getting that dead candida out of the system.  You must eliminate the dead candida to minimize toxic reactions and cleansing effects.  Of the two, the second is argueably the more important one.

How do you get dead candida out of your body? Soluble fibers that contain psyllium, apple pectin or acacia gum (Loclo/Clarifiber) or activated charcoal if you can not handle fibers, epsom salt or sea salt baths, infrared saunas, and plenty of water!

Eleven Great Uses for Silver Shield

Silver Shield is one of the most flexible and diverse products that we carry at www.stopyeast.com.  Our Silver Shield may be the only nutritional supplement with and anti-viral patent. Here are a few ideas for how to use it.

1. Vaginal Yeast Problems: Use the liquid silver shield as a douche to eradicate vaginal yeast and/or bacterial vaginosis.  The liquid silver is antifungal, anti “bad” bacterial, and antiviral.  This is a way to get rid of a bacterial overgrowth without having to take antibiotics.  Add 60 ml of Liquid Silver Shield into a douche and use.  Hold the liquid in the vagina for 10 minutes and then release.  Do this for 3-5 days, one time per day.  Next apply a quarter size amount of Silver Shield Gel to a tampon and insert.  The Silver will come into contact with the Cervix and will deal with bacterial vaginosis, yeast and viral HPV.  This method is completely safe and will not upset the normal balance of beneficial bacteria in this area.  What a revolutionary way to deal with vaginal infections!

2.  Herpes outbreaks – apply silver shield gel directly to the herpes outbreaks and let absorb into the skin.  I have a friend who struggles with herpes outbreaks; she said that application of the Silver Shield Gel got the Herpes back under control in just a couple of days; normally it would have taken her months.

3.  Ear Infections – apply Silver Shield liquid drops to the infected ear twice daily. Make sure and fill the ear canal.  Keep the fluid in the ear canal for a minimum of 6 minutes.  I have seen the silver take care of an ear infection in less than 12 hours.  Pain is diminished very quickly.

4. Eye Infections (Pink Eye or Viral Eye Infections) – apply 1 drop of Liquid Silver Shield to the infected eye.  You do not need to dilute the solution.  Add drops up to 5 times per day or as needed.

5.  Getting on an airplane and don’t want to get sick? – apply Silver Shield gel on the inside of your nostrils and use Silver Shield Gel like a lotion to disinfect your hands.  The Silver Shield Gel tube is 3 ounces, so it should be allowed on an airplane.

6. Silver in the home: Dilute by adding 1 ounce of Silver to a spray bottle and fill with water. Spray Silver on your countertop to disinfect, spray silver shield directly on mold and let sit for 10 minutes (this will work on black mold, too).

7. Viruses – if you have been exposed to an illness (Swine Flu included), start Silver Shield right away. You should take 2 tsp twice per day for 7 days to make sure you have the best chance of eliminating the virus before it takes hold.

8. Acne, breakouts – at the first sign of a breakout, apply Silver Shield Gel directly to the blemish.  It will kill the bacteria festering in the pore.  For a more general application, apply a dime-sized amount of gel to the whole face after washing.  Allow this to seep into the pores and then apply moisturizer.  This will help you to eliminate blemishes before they occur and is anti-aging, too.

9. Food Poisoning – take 2 tsp hourly until symptoms subside.

10. Strep Throat – Gargle for six minutes (swallow solution); use every 2 hours for strep throat in the first day and then twice daily for 5 days more.

11. This product is also great for wounding healing and skin rashes.

As you can see, this product can be used for some pretty incredible things!  You can find out more at http://www.stopyeast.com/product_pages/silver-shield.html.  The product is on sale right now – Stock up now!

Healing Layers

As I look at my journey to optimal health, the thing that comes to mind is layers.  Layer after layer after layer.  Seven years ago, I thought that all of my health problems had to be centered around only one issue, but that was certainly not the case as I quickly found out.  Many people also feel that only one condition must be the reason why they feel the way they do; they will quickly become discouraged when they find another layer beneath the one they just took care of.  I have heard that you can liken healing to an onion peel.  As you peel off one layer, their lies another one.  Of course, you do eventually get to the vegetable and can start “cooking”.

My first layer was candida (or at least that was the one I tackled first).  I saw a large improvement, but I wasn’t quite where I wanted to be.  The next layer I tackled was parasites – that was a doozy!  I had no idea that a person could be so affected for so long and have absolutely no idea.  Another set of problems was solved, though.  After the parasites, I dealt with a heavy metal toxicity.  I picked up Uranium somewhere (yes, uranium).  My husband always thought I had a radioactive aspect to my personality <grin>.  And, yet, even after that there were still layers to work through.  I needed to enhance my nutrition – all the years of candida and parasites had eaten into my reserves.  My adrenal glands needed support, too.  I also had to flush the liver and gall bladder, deal with a hormonal imbalance and, now, I am dealing with an inflammatory issue.  I am hopeful that this is the last issue I will need to “fix” before I can just start to live.

Yes, it has been a long haul.  Has it been worth it….?  Absolutely!!

Every day I see my children, share in their dreams and help them along the way as they travel toward being an adult.  I want to be there every step of the way and I pray that I will be healthy.  I figure God won’t mind if I help myself along the way!

Cancer and Insomnia

I just ran into an article at http://bit.ly/7Gq0j7 that talks about a prevalent relationship between cancer and insomnia (and other sleep disruptions).  A study performed by the Duke Clinical Research Institute and backed by the National Cancer Institute showed that up to half of all cancer patients report some form of sleep interruptions.  Things that qualify as a sleep disruption include: difficulty falling asleep; waking once asleep; night sweats, hot flashes, anxiety that caused the person to wake up; and difficulty finding a comfortable position for sleep.   It also appears that this problem continues after treatment for the cancer has stopped.

Can you imagine how miserable these people must be? Not only are they sick and going through cancer treatment, but they can’t sleep to boot.  Talk about adding insult to injury. Of course, solving sleep disruptions isn’t a really high priority for the doctor because there are very important things to deal with such as surgeries, chemo, and radiation.  But, imagine the improvement in the patient’s quality of life if instead of struggling with insomnia they could get some sleep every night.

Something that was not mentioned in the study is how to potentially solve the insomnia. One thing that makes sense to me is looking for a nutritional deficiency.  One type of deficiency that often results in insomnia is a magnesium deficiency. Magnesium deficiency may also cause anxiety, problems relaxing, tight muscles, and cramps.  It turns out that many people with cancer are very acidic; if they are, their body will pull any magnesium out of the system it can to try to maintain a neutral ph. This acidity can deplete magnesium stores. Also, many of the medications that are used in treating cancer may pull magnesium out of the system.

It is an easy thing to try. If you are struggling with insomnia get a bottle of Natural Calm + Calcium magnesium (which you can find at www.bestmagnesium.com) for about $16.00  plus shipping and give it a try.  We are also happy to provide free samples before you purchase. You will know if it will help you in about 24 hours!

The Importance of Iodine

Why, you may ask, is iodine important for candida fighting? It is, in fact, quite vital that you have enough iodine and being sufficient in iodine will make your cleansing go more easily!

The reason why iodine important in detoxifying is related to the thyroid glands, these are the glands that contain (or should contain) the highest concentration of iodine in the body. Every 17 minutes all of your blood supply travels through the thyroid glands. While the blood is going through the thyroid it is exposed to the anti-candida, anti-parasitic and anti-viral properties of the iodine that is contained there. The thyroid cleans your blood stream of these pathogenic organisms. If you do not have the iodine supply you need, the thyroid cannot do its job and this makes a candida cleanse much more difficult to get through. So, making sure you have enough iodine will open the detoxification pathways and you are on your way.

Iodine has been called one of the FUNDAMENTAL BUILDING BLOCKS to good health along with water, salt, and soda (electrolytes). Of these 4 items, iodine is perhaps the least understood and the most neglected. Iodine is a key component in our systems and may be responsible for helping with the following: resisting disease, increasing energy, calming the body and releasing nervous tension, detoxinfying the body, reducing brain fog, increasing concentration and focus, hormonal imbalance, fibrocystic breasts, PCOS, low stomach acid, heart arrhythmias, weight gain, ability to sweat, infertility, unexplained weight gain and others… In short, it is pretty incredible stuff. It is inexpensive and easy to administer as iodine can be applied topically.  We carry it for you at: stopyeast.com

Candida Fighting – The Secret Weapon

For most people candida fighting is a one step approach and that is to kill the candida. The focus of the battle always rotates around that one singular strategy. If I kill the candida, I win the battle.  So, people will do everything they can to accomplish this. They will take ThreeLac or FiveLac plus Candex, the may add oregano oil or olive leaf extract if they don’t feel they are getting quite the kill factor necessary.  They will then add in colloidal silvers, garlic, restrict the diet to eliminate any potential candida feeders and anything else they can think of.  And what generally happens?  Well…. they may start feeling worse.

Why do they feel worse? Killing candida releases a number of toxins into the body; although candida releases a total of 70-80 different types of toxins, the most common are formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, and ethanol.  These are just normal waste products for the candida.  If it comes under attack, candida will ramp up the amount of toxin it puts out. These toxins get into the blood stream and if you have enough of these floating around you will feel  miserable. Your liver will try to filter them out, but it can get overloaded pretty easily. The sad thing is, that the more you cleanse, the worse you may feel especially if your liver is already inhibited in some way from functioning at 100%.  Symptoms may begin to arise; symptoms like headaches, brain fog, insomnia, achy joints, itchy skin, or rashes are the most common things I hear about when a person is overly toxic.  These are  your body’s way of trying to let you know that you are toxic.  To get feeling better, you need to bypass this… get those toxins out before they get into the blood stream and this is where a secret weapon comes in mighty handy.

So, what is the secret weapon to candida fighting? It is an easy thing to do, cheap and beneficial to the body in many other ways.  The secret weapon is…soluble fiber!  Soluble fiber contains things like psyllium, apple pectin, oat bran, chia meal, and/or acacia.  These products tend to bulk up in the stool and are very absorbant.  For instance, if you let some chia meal sit in water for any amount of time, you will see that it becomes somewhat gelatinous.  This property allows the body to dump large amounts of toxin into the fiber from the blood stream and will also sweep dead candida out of the bowel.  Fiber is not only helpful in reducing toxins levels but it has the added health benefits of reducing cholesterol levels, improving bowel movements, and feeding beneficial bacteria.

The fiber that we carry at www.stopyeast.com to help in detoxification is called Loclo; it contains psyllium apple pectin, guar gum, acacia and oatbran. This combination of soluble fibers was specifically formulated to help remove toxins easily and efficiently from the body.  A tablespoon per day along with plenty of water will get you feeling better and will help to speed up the candida killing process.    We have found that adding Loclo increases the comfort of the person doing a candida cleanse and may actually speed up the process eliminating as much as 9 weeks of treatment without the fiber.  Loclo does contain a little gluten, so if you need a gluten-free fiber we have one called Clarifiber.  Clarifiber contains apple pectin, acacia, chia and maltodextrin. It is a clear, flavorless liquid and very easy to give to kids.

If you are detoxing, don’t forget the secret weapon!  You’ll be very happy you didn’t.

To your Health!
