The Vitamins/Minerals that Candida Sufferers
may be Deficient in!
As a note: We promised bonus reports on our website if you decided to purchase product from us. This is that first report! Please understand that ThreeLac/FiveLac and OE+/Cell Food will help you to eliminate candida from your system and that the supplements talked about in this report are not necessary for the protocol to work. However, if you are deficient in these vitamins/minerals because you have candida, filling those deficiencies now may increase the rate at which your symptoms will improve.
- Thanks! Tom and Leanne Felzien
We hear from many people every day and as we talk to them we have come to realize that there are two vitamin/mineral deficiencies which many people struggle with. These two deficiencies are generally magnesium deficiencies and vitamin B-12 deficiencies. People with candida struggle with a variety of symptoms and many of them are caused directly by these vitamin/mineral deficiencies and, thus, indirectly by candida. How so, you may ask...?
We become deficient in magnesium if an acidic environment becomes prevalent in the "body" system. Many people with candida are very acidic; you can verify your ph level by obtaining some ph strips and measuring the saliva or urine (the urine analysis is the more accurate measure of the two, but you need to measure the second urine of the day). This acidity causes the body to throw itself into survival mode because the ph level of the blood stream must be ideally maintained at 7.365. If the blood ph goes above 7.8 or below 6.8, death may occur. So, in order to maintain the ideal ph level in the blood stream, the body utilizes every resource it has. According to http://www.snyderhealth.com/blood.htm
"... a declining pH (i.e. acidic ph in the body) just can't be allowed. To prevent it, when faced with a lot of incoming acid, the blood begins to pull alkaline minerals out of our tissues to compensate. There is a family of minerals particularly suited to neutralizing, or detoxifying, strong acids, including sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium. When these minerals react with acids, they create much less detrimental substances, which are then eliminated by the body.
Now, a healthy body maintains a reserve supply of these alkaline minerals to meet emergency demands. But if there are insufficient amounts in the diet or in the reserves, they are recruited elsewhere, and may be leached from the bone (as with calcium) or muscle (magnesium) - where they are, of course, needed. This can easily lead to deficiencies - and the many and varied symptoms that come with them."
Candida, itself, may cause depletion of magnesium and potassium for the following reason:
"...The major waste product of yeast cell activity is ACETALDEHYDE. Candida can multiply very quickly and after many years of growth, the buildup of acetaldehyde toxins can be overwhelming to the body tissues. The poison is transformed into ethanol and converted by the liver to alcohol (also the cause for that brain fog). This depletes the body of magnesium and potassium which reduces cell energy. These two minerals are absolutely essential for tissue strength and integrity." - from http://www.healthychristianliving.com/candida.htm
The materials that will alkalize the system are minerals like calcium and magnesium; so, in order to alkalize the blood, the body will actually leach calcium and magnesium from the bones and muscles. If this continues over time, you will fall further and further into a state of deficiency with a rather big hole to fill. If you suffer from these symptoms of magnesium deficiency it would be wise to fill the deficiency "hole" with a high quality magnesium so that you will feel better, faster. You may not have all of these symptoms; but, if you have even three or four, magnesium deficiency may be an issue for you.
twitches muscle cramps muscle tension muscle soreness leg spasms charlie horses back aches neck pain tension headaches jaw joint problems chest tightness can't take a deep breath need to sigh a lot constipation urinary spasms menstrual cramps difficulty swallowing lump in the throat light sensitivity loud noise sensitivity insomnia anxiety hyperactivity restlessness with constant movement panic attacks agoraphobia premenstural irritability numbness tingling vibratory sensations heart palpitations heart arrythmias angina high blood pressure being "uptight"This list was obtained from: http://www.mbschachter.com/importance_of_magnesium_to_human.htm. This is also an excellent article on why magnesium deficiency is important to be aware of and to deal with.
The ThreeLac/FiveLac and OE+ will eliminate the candida that is helping to create the acid environment in your body; but, some people are so deficient in magnesium that they need to fill this deficiency before they will notice dramatic improvements in their health.
Fortunately, it is very easy to deal with magnesium deficiency; you just need to take magnesium! You will want to get a hold of a high quality, absorbable "elemental magnesium". Magnesium, even high quality ones, are not that expensive. But, you don't want to get a magnesium oxide. Magnesium oxide is the most inexpensive magnesium available and will not absorb into the system very well. You may not notice much of a difference if you choose a product that contains it.
Magnesium Citrate is definitely your best bet! You will want to take between 500-750 mg per day of elemental magnesium citrate if you are severely deficient. It is difficult to take too much magnesium as you will develop diarrhea if you take too much for your body.
Tom and I have run into an exceptional magnesium product called "Natural Calm" by Natural Vitality. It is 100% elemental magnesium citrate. It is highly absorbable because the product actually goes into solution with water when hot water is poured over it. It is carried to the muscle tissue very efficiently when it is in solution. People are seeing amazing results with this product; relief from constipation, insomnia, lumps in the throat, and muscle twitching seem to respond within a week for most and within hours for some!
If you don't care for the flavor, Natural Calm mag. can be mixed in tea or a low sugar juice to make it easier to take.
It may be possible to find Natural Calm magnesium locally, but we are carrying this for your convenience (original flavor - doesn't have much flavor, raspberry-lemon - is tart, but actually pretty good). The raspberry-lemon is flavored with stevia, an herbal sweeter, that is fine for people with candida to use. The Original flavor is not sweetened at all. The cost of a bottle is $11.75 and it will last about 4-6 weeks. (If you just placed an order with us and would like to add the magnesium, we will refund the $3.85 shipping charge to your credit card and ship it in the same box as your original order.)
If you do not want the Natural Calm, you can also find magnesium in a local health food store. Just remember to get magnesium citrate and not magnesium oxide. Magnesium is a lot like vitamin C in that you can take a lot and when you have taken too much you will develop diarrhea. If this should happen, just cut the dosage down and the diarrhea will stop.
The second vitamin that most folks with candida are deficient in is Vitamin B-12. B-12 is actually manufactured in the gut by the "good-guy" bacteria. If we have a candida overgrowth, there are not as many good bacteria doing the job for us and our B vitamins are not as available. Vitamin B-12 is very helpful if you suffer from fatigue, canker sores or a burning tongue. You should take B-12 in the morning, however, or else you may be up all night.
Vitamin B-12 is a micronutrient that is also referred to as Cobalamin and Cyanocobalamin. Vitamin B-12 is a water-soluble compound of the B vitamin family with an unique difference. Unlike the other B-vitamins which cannot be stored, but which must be replaced daily, vitamin B12 can be stored for long periods in the liver and kidneys.
Vitamin B12 is a particularly important coenzyme that is required for the proper synthesis of DNA which controls the healthy formation of new cells throughout the body. B12 also supports the action of vitamin C, and is necessary for the proper digestion and absorption of foods, for protein synthesis, and for the normal metabolism of carbohydrates and fats. Additionally, vitamin B12 prevents nerve damage by contributing to the formation of the myelin sheath that insulates nerve cells. B12 also maintains fertility, and helps promotes normal growth and development in children.
A deficiency of vitamin B-12 can result in a potentially fatal form of anemia called pernicious anemia. Since vitamin B12 can be easily stored in the body, and is only required in tiny amounts, symptoms of severe deficiency usually take five years or more to appear. When symptoms do surface, usually in mid-life, it is likely that deficiency was due to digestive disorders or malabsorption rather than to poor diet. The exception to this would be strict vegetarians who do not consume any foods of animal origin, since B12 only comes from animal sources.
Due to its role in healthy cell formation, a deficiency of B12 disrupts the formation of red blood cells, leading to reduced numbers of poorly formed red cells, leading to a anemia. Symptoms of anemia include fatigue, loss of appetite, diarrhea and moodiness. B12 deficiency can lead to improper formation of nerve cells, resulting in irreversible neurological damage, with symptoms ranging from disorientation, delusions, eye disorders, dizziness, confusion and memory loss.
The RDA for vitamin B12 is 2 micrograms for adults, 2.2 micrograms for pregnant women, and 2.6 micrograms for nursing mothers. Vitamin B12 is not found in vegetables; but, can be found in pork, blue cheese, clams, eggs, herring, kidney, liver, seafood, and milk.
Vitamin B12 is available in supplement. Due to poor absorption in the stomach, B12 is usually taken as a sublingual or in injection form. Supplements range in strength from 50 micrograms to 2 milligrams. There are virtually no known toxic symptoms for megadoses of vitamin B12, and any excess is simply excreted from the body.It should be very easy to pick some sublingual B-12 up in a local health food store if you feel that you need it. It should not be terribly expensive and, if you are deficient, you will probably want about 1000 mcg per day to catch up on a deficiency.
This concludes our first bonus report! Remember, these supplements are not essential at all for the ThreeLac/FiveLac protocol to work. However, they may help you to improve more quickly! Thanks very much for your time!
