Diet Recommendations

Our recommendations concerning diet while on our candida fighting products are quite simple. Eat a healthy diet, hold your refined sugars down to 30-40 grams (about 10 teaspoons) per day and restrict alcohol. Herbal sweeteners and some artificial sweenteners are fine. Stevia and Xylitol, which is antifungal, are recommended natural sweeteners.

We realize that many protocols call for the restrictive anti-candida diet, but we truly believe that this very restrictive diet is not necessary when using ThreeLac/FiveLac and/or Candex. There are a few reasons why we stand by this policy.

1. The products have been proven to be effective regardless of diet. ThreeLac and FiveLac are powerful enough that they will be able to kill candida even while eating candida feeding foods. Candex kills candida by eating away at the outer fiber layer of the candida yeast cell, the pysical approach is not at all dependent on diet.

2. The anti-candida diet must be followed for 1 month for each year that you have had candida. Many of us realize that we have been struggling with candida for many years (10-30 years for many).10-30 months on the anti-candida diet does not provide enough nutritional support to nourish the body very effectively. The diet's "rationale" is to starve the yeast; unfortunately, this also translates into starving you and to be on such a diet for very long periods would be dangerous. Your body needs nutrition to heal and so you should be eating a variety of healthy foods.

3. The anti-candida diet tends to make candida go dormant. If this occurs, symptoms may reduce, but you will not really know if you have killed all of the candida or not. I like to have people keep the candida somewhat active so that you know more clearly when you are done with the candida cleanse.

4. The anti-candida diet adds an additional layer of complexity to a candida cleanse that is not necessary with ThreeLac, FiveLac or Candex. At some point, you have to add the foods back in that you have eliminated and see if there is any candida left in your system. It is just easier if you never eliminated the foods in the first place.

Already on the anti-candida diet? Things will be a little more complicated for you but in the beginning just continue on the diet and start the products. After about 6-8 weeks you can slowly start to add foods back in one at a time, if you wish. We can help you with this process.

Some people notice that they are symptomatic when eating some foods. For instance, wheat always produces an itching response when you eat it. I would not recommend that you try to add wheat in until after the candida cleanse. Once the Candida is gone and the Leaky Gut is healed you may be able to tolerate foods that you have had a previous allergy to.
