Can I take ThreeLac while I am pregnant?
ThreeLac is safe to take during pregnancy. However, it is best to let your OB know that you are on this product. The list of ingredients can be found here: ThreeLac

Yes, we believe that this all-natural product is safe for young children and infants. Please consult with your pediatrician if your child is under two.

There is yeast in ThreeLac, Why?
The yeast present in ThreeLac is there to feed and sustain the live bacteria until you ingest it. At that point, it can "eat" the fungal yeast overgrowth in your system. These are live organisms which must be fed!

How is Candida spread within families?
In our case, the reason that yeast proliferated in our family was probably through me (Leanne). I had gotten yeast from my parents, probably when my immune system was weak and then the yeast overgrowth gained strength during my use of birth control pills, my five pregnancies, various doses of antibiotics here and there. I then "passed" the yeast to my kids through breast milk or maybe even in utero. Some of the kids then had ear infections which we treated with antibiotics and one got antibiotics as a newborn because of a "strep" scare. Tom got his yeast start from his mother.

THE SALIVA TEST
The saliva test is one of those nutrition industry tests that has been around so long that no one knows the true origin, however many healthcare professionals use it as a good indication of elevated candida presence. All people have candida presence, but only those with elevated candida will fail the spit test. The spit test is only an indication, not a test of the level or severity of the candida problem.

NUMBER OF MICRO-ORGANISMS IN THREELAC
The reason that ThreeLac is so effective is the micro-encapsulating process perfected in Japan. The encapsulation ensures that the lactobacilli survive the harsh acids in the stomach and get to the gastrointestinal region where they can and do go to work. GHT states that 80-85% of the live lactobacilli survive the journey through the stomach acids, while in standard probiotics only 2-5% of the live lactobacilli actually survive the trip through the stomach. The micro-encapsulation process also makes it very difficult to get an accurate count of the micro-organisms.

Have any independent medical studies been performed on ThreeLac?
Yes, a medical study was completed on Dec 2, 2004. Here is the letter that was sent to GHT from Gary Shima, M.D. decribing the results of his study. Each of these highly controlled tests and clinical studies verify the positive effects that GHT's products have on the human body. Dear Mr. Hale,

We conducted a second clinical research study using your Threelac product, following the same protocol standards as with the Oxygen Elements Plus study, namely, pre and post-testing health questionnaires were collected, and fasting blood-chemistry panels were performed, prior to and at the end of the 30-day study. Again, the participants did not change their diet, exercise patterns, medication or supplement usage; however, in this study we performed pre and post blood tests for Candida Albicans antibodies. Several subjects performed the fasting, early morning saliva test for Candida screening. Of the 13 original subjects, 9 completed the study.

Results and Findings: All of the subjects who tested positive with the morning saliva Candida screening test showed markedly positive blood Candida antibody tests. Most of the subjects attracted to this study were suspecting Candida problems, and answered “yes” to many of the Candida symptoms on the questionnaire. Eight of the participants were female and one was male. After 30 days on Threelac, averaging three packets daily, 8 of the 9 subjects showed reduction of Candida antibody levels. Of interest, 5 of the 9 subjects showed reduction of Total Cholesterol, triglycerides, and LDL Cholesterol with some elevation HDL Cholesterol. The most significant symptoms favorably affected after the 30-day use of Threelac were headaches, fatigue and lethargy, heartburn and indigestion, mental concentration, numbness, joint pain and stiffness, skin rash, and allergy symptoms. One participant reported she could write better with a pen, since prolonged suffering with chronic wrist tendonitis. Will I ever be able to discontinue the products?
Some of us choose to stay at maintenance levels just to ensure that we never have a re-occurence of candida again. But, the goal for most is to eliminate the candida and then get off the ThreeLac. By following our graduated dosage methodology of working up one packet at a time until the symptoms are gone and then working back down one packet at a time, you will be able to discontinue the product in time. However, people that have had candida are very prone to a re-occurence, as candida in its innocent form is always with us. If you should have to undergo an antibiotic treatment or are under stress, for example, it is a simple matter to get another can of ThreeLac and just do a general cleanse.
