How do kids that have never had antibiotics get candida?

Probably through their mother. When a child is in utero, their digestive tract is entirely sterile. The idea is that they are supposed to pick up all of the beneficial bacteria they need on the journey through the vaginal canal. Unfortunately, many of us today do not have very much beneficial bacteria available and may have a significant amount of yeast there instead. So, at birth, the baby picks up a dose of candida-yeast and no beneficial bacteria.

How is Candida spread within families?

The most common way that candida is spread in family is from mother to child through birth. When a child is in utero, their digestive tracts are completely sterile.
They are supposed to pick up all of the beneficial bacteria they need in the birth canal from their mom and in breast milk. However, if the mom doesn't have very many beneficial bacteria to give because they are loaded up with candida, the baby sees very little protective beneficial flora and a lot of yeast on the way out. Will I ever be able to discontinue the products?

Some of us choose to stay at maintenance levels just to ensure that we never have a re-occurrence of candida again. But, the goal for most is to eliminate the candida and then get off the ThreeLac.
